Theatre Support Worker
**Position**: Theatre Support Worker

**Band**: 3 (Subject to meeting the full requirements and expectations of the job description)
**Location**: Salford Royal Hospital, Salford, Greater Manchester
We are pleased to advertise a Band 3 Theatre Support Worker vacancy to work across the operating theatres at Salford Royal Hospital.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Assist in the preparation of the theatre and patient areas.
Provide logístical support to healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
Ensure the well-being and safety of patients at all times.
Manage and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the theatre environment.
Handle equipment and instruments.
The shift pattern is days and nights, 7 days a week.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Preparation of Surgical Areas**:
Set up the theatre rooms prior to surgical procedures.
Ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are available and sterile.
**Patient Care**:
Assist in the transfer of patients to and from the theatre.
Provide reassurance and support to patients pre
- and post-operation.
**Supporting the Surgical Team**:
Hand sterile instruments and supplies to the scrub staff.
Help position patients on the operating table.
**Maintenance of Equipment**:
Ensure surgical instruments and equipment is sent for cleaning and sterilisation post-operation.
Conduct routine checks and maintenance of theatre equipment.
**Health and Safety Compliance**:
Adhere to infection control protocols.
Dispose of clinical waste according to hospital guidelines.
**Administrative Tasks**:
Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient details.
Stock management and inventory control.
**Continuous Learning**:
Participate in training sessions and workshops.
Stay updated with the latest best practices in theatre operations.
**Team Collaboration**:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient operation of the theatre.
Participate in debriefings and team meetings to discuss improvements
