We have an excellent opportunity currently available for a UK optimization Team Leader to come join our team. This position will be located in our Southampton port, where it will oversee three team members and additionally work alongside the team leader and their Corringham port-based team members.

We are looking for an innovative individual that has experience in driving change and continuous improvement initiatives, to meet the businesses objectives. Who also has project management experience from conception and design all the way through to implementation, including dealings with both internal and external stakeholders.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Project Management**:

- To project manage projects as delegated
- To discover and promote new opportunities for the business to invest and/or adopt.
- To co-ordinate between start-up companies and Terminal on new ventures

**Business improvement**:

- To investigate new ways of generating innovation within departments & promote/encourage innovation at all levels.
- To follow through with innovation, lean thinking and other methodology as supported by DP World. Ensuring where Lean training has been provided, it is being practised and used for the benefit of the Terminal.
- Handle requests for software/infrastructure development and ensure clear documentation of ideas/improvements.

**Communication**:

- Co-ordinate and communicate between relevant areas on projects and improvement topics, ensuring the team is open to new ideas and offering a good level of support.

**Leadership & Team Development**:

- Provide leadership & guidance for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor & develop the team members, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Establish performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Identify training and development needs and facilitate relevant learning opportunities.
- Ensure both UK business units are aligned and working towards the share objectives.

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in leading a team within a Terminal or Logistics environment.
- A degree in business logistics or similar would be beneficial.
- Experience with terminal operating systems would be beneficial.
- Lean or 6 Sigma experience.
- Project management experience
- Experience with tools such as Scrum, Agile, Jira and Wrika etc
- Excellent communication skill across all levels
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Happy to travel between the two ports when required
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads
- No unspent criminal convictions
