**Job overview**:
Support the Head of Clinical Service in the operational delivery of safe and effective clinical services, providing leadership, support, supervision, appraisal and performance management to qualified and support staff, liaising closely with other health teams, Social Services and Voluntary Agencies to maximise service provision and optimise patient care.

This post is fixed term for 6 months to cover current post holder.

**Main duties of the job**:
Work collaboratively with the Head of Clinical Services, Head of Operations and Associate Director of Operations and the Strategic and Business Lead to support and influence the strategic development of services in line with national and local priorities, internally and across organisations.

Responsible for supporting the contribution (including performance), development and wellbeing of the staff they directly line manage and ensuring direct reports do the same for staff they are responsible for.

Oversee a culture in which staff are enabled to be the best they can be.

- Recognised qualifications to degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent post graduate validated courses and experience.
- ECDL or equivalent.

**Knowledge and Expertise**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Up to date knowledge of modern service delivery and national plans for health and social care.
- Budget management.
- Understanding of project management methodology and approaches.
- Understanding of service improvement tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and the Health Care Standards.
- Knowledge of the relationship between Commissioners, Providers, Local Authority and third sector.
