The purpose of this post is monitoring and demonstrating compliance with NICE guidance and NCEPOD across the Trust by ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective registration and compliance process.

The job involves supporting the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance to provide data and reports to various Trust level and Clinical Divisional committees.

The post holder will provide administrative support including creating and maintaining accurate databases, extracting data for local divisional and high level reports and taking minutes at relevant meetings and committees as required.

This role will involve the post holder acting as the first point of contact across to the Trust in relation to compliance with NICE (National Institute for Care and Health Excellence) and providing advice and guidance to resolve issues or queries relating to compliance with NICE guidelines.

To provide a high standard of administrative support to the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance.

Provision of day-to-day coordination of NICE guidance assessment and compliance process including communicating information to staff at all levels of the organisation.

Identify and review newly published NICE guidance and determine which clinical areas are required to provide a response.

Issuing newly published guidance in a timely way providing a clear timeframe for response in line with the Trust’s Best Practice Policy.

Act as the first point of contact and provide advice and guidance on the completion of assessments and be able to resolve issues or queries relating to compliance with NICE guidance.

To train new members of staff, including clinical staff, on the completion of NICE assessment forms, expectations for these to be completed to timescale and process for non-compliance to guidance.

To collate completed assessments and accurately record the compliance level on the Trust database, flagging any assessments which indicate partial or non-compliance, to the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance.

To act with autonomy to attempt to resolve any issues of non-compliance with guidance in assessments.

Maintain an action tracker identifying reasons for all partial compliance and actions required to support the full implementation of the guidance with the identification of an action owner and completion date.

Monitor responses and chase for any past the agreed response date, escalating any issues in obtaining a response in line with departmental process.

Assist in project planning and take responsibility for key effectiveness and compliance projects, under the guidance of the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance.

Extract data and prepare and present reports to divisional committees, to assist the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance in the production of Trust level reports for the Quality Governance Oversight Committee (QGOC), the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and for the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

Work with the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance and the Associate Medical Director for Audit & Effectiveness to prepare the agenda, gather and distribute papers, monitor actions, and take minutes at the Clinical Audit Forum (CAF).

Act as minute taker for the Clinical Audit Forum (CAF) and provide cover for the minute taker for the Mortality Surveillance Committee (MSC).

To coordinate National Confidential Enquiries into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD), including liaising with clinicians and the Information Services team to obtain patient lists, liaising with NCEPOD in the collation and return of clinician questionnaires, organisational questionnaires and copies of patient records as required.

To maintain accurate records of NCEPOD study participation including a rolling schedule for presentation of published studies at QGOC and other committees as directed by the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance.

Assist in processing clinical audit registrations and completed projects as required by the Head of Quality Governance & Compliance.
