Health Care Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Health Care support worker posts, at Laurels & Briary inpatient learning disabilities services.
The post holder will assist in the promotion of equality for all clients through anti-discriminatory practise, supporting clients’ rights, choices, personal beliefs and identity and by supporting clients with challenging behaviour and complex health needs through effective communication.
The post holder regularly works without supervision for all or most of a span of duty.
The Laurels & Briary service is an 8 bedded in-patient unit, that sits within the Learning Disability Delivery Group.
We are part of the wider Mental Health and Learning Disability Delivery unit, who sits within Swansea Bay University Health Board. There are training opportunities to complete the QCF requirements, Positive Behavioural Support BTEC and Positive Behavioural Support Management training.
The post holder will assist in the promotion of equality for all clients through anti-discriminatory practise, supporting clients’ rights, choices, personal beliefs and identity and by supporting clients with challenging behaviour and complex health needs through effective communication.
The post holder regularly works without supervision for all or most of a span of duty. Some of the key elements of the role include: effective communication, oral and written, personal and professional skills, Health, safety and security, meeting and addressing health and wellbeing needs of the individual patients.
