**About the role**

This newly created position will sit within our UK SHE team and report directly to the UK SHE Manager. The successful applicant will monitor and report on the organisations progress towards sustainability goals and educate employees and stakeholders on the importance of environmental sustainability. Ultimately, the job purpose of the Environmental Sustainability Specialist is to ensure Scott Bader UK operates in a way that is environmentally responsible and sustainable for the long-term.

**Key responsibilities**

EPR reporting requirements including abatement systems relating to emissions management and Operator Monitoring assessments.

Lead and develop strategies to improve environmental awareness and sustainability opportunities for the UK site, linking in with group plans.

Implement and lead energy efficiency management, water resource management and carbon reduction opportunities for the UK site, including KPI development and planning.

Lead the UK Extended Producer Responsibility Reporting requirements.

Provide training on key environmental and sustainability matters.

Provide detailed advice on waste management, including the recover and disposal of hazardous waste to WM3 requirements.

Develop Environmental Procedures and Polies to meet requirements of legislation, Best Available Techniques and best practice.

Fully embed the EMS into all departments of the organisation.

Assist the existing team in managing COMAH requirements.

Lead Emissions Management, interpretation of reports and Operator Monitoring Assessments.

Provide support, advice and training on environmental / sustainability matters.

Supporting to ensure the SHE Improvement Plans (SHEIPs) appropriately reflect environmental/sustainability priorities.

Assist or lead with accident/incident investigations as required.

Management of Trade Effluent Consents.

**About you**

The successful applicant will require the ability to build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, possess strong communication and influencing skills and experience in liaising with the Competent Authority under the Environmental Permitting Regulations and COMAH. You will require resilience to drive change and promote a positive culture and to remain agile and flexible to respond to ever changing priorities.

Experience in managing Environmental Management Systems is essential. A basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Management and how Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems are advantageous.

**Salary & benefits**:The salary for the position will be in the range of £45,000 to £55,000 dependent upon experience. In addition to your salary, you will also be included into our company bonus scheme (Group Staff Bonus & Profit Performance Bonus). Our Group Staff Bonus & Profit Performance Pay bonus scheme reinforces the Scott Bader principle of working together for a common goal and sharing in our successes.

**Pension**:We offer a generous contribution to your pension and dependant on your monthly commitment, we will contribute up to a maximum of 2x your contribution up to a maximum of 10%.
