Data Quality and Validation Officer

The Data quality & validation officer will play an active role in ensuring integrity of national and local Cancer Centre data, achieving this through ensuring data is available, complete, consistent, accurate and auditable.
To be involved in a variety of tasks, working with the Cancer Centre team as well as other Divisions and Business units as required, including wider information and Business Intelligence teams, to identify areas of non-compliance and to resolve these to ensure compliance with national and local standards.
This will be a combination of working between Royal Derby Hospital and Queen's Hospital Burton and home working
- Responsible for developing detailed weekly statistical reports to monitor progress on compliance with national standards
- Responsible for processing, generating and distributing information to monitor missing data and data errors
- Assist the Cancer Centre management team and Business Intelligence in ensuring the integrity, timeliness and completeness of patient data on Infoflex
- Carrying out weekly spot checks and audits via personal contact with data collectors and data in-putters throughout the trust
- Write reports on findings from spot checks and audits to standards specified by the Cancer Centre management team using statistics to identify any areas of non-compliance
- Analyse a variety of information and data to enable comprehensive and appropriate comparisons to be made. Including comparing what is recorded on Infoflex with other Trust systems as appropriate
- Assist with design, implementation, and monitoring systems and procedures to improve data quality
- Provide a point of contact for cancer data quality issues within the organisation; provide help and advice on data quality and related issues ensuring compliance to national standards
- Assist the Cancer Centre management team to ensure all Data Quality policies and procedures are reviewed annually and meet the standards of the Trust. Be responsible for their own work area, proposing changes to policies, practices and service development
