**Quality Auditor**

Bakkavor Desserts is based in Devizes, Wiltshire and specialises in making chilled desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, pies and pastries. The site employs over 550 people and is one of three factories that are part of the Bakkavor Desserts sector in the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and motivated Quality Auditor to join our food manufacturing technical team - to be accountable for ensuring industry leading high standards of product safety, quality & legality.

**The role**

As Quality Assurance Auditor, your key focus will be to audit, monitor, improve and evaluate quality systems and procedures whilst providing technical support to the operational teams.

In this busy and varied role, you will maintain and promote technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements.

**Day to day duties will include**:

- Auditing compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP and HACCP controls, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence - effectively communicating to enable the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action, whilst to following up to monitor completion of actions.
- Taking samples (micro, nutritional, swab and organoleptic) against specific schedules and communicating progress in a timely manner.
- Preparing and facilitating taste panels in accordance with procedure, ensuring that all results are accurately recorded and communicated to site.
- Calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
- Understanding the site traceability system in order to complete audits/demonstrate compliance and retrieve information for investigation purposes.
- Assisting the QA Supervisor with carrying out full investigations, handling complaints, and reviewing incidents in relation to both micro and nutritional issues. This may include sampling, process reviews, traceability, and audits.
- Supporting NPD trials and product launches
- Assisting in micro testing and product life assessment to ensure products are manufactured to the correct standard.
- With guidance from Line Manager, coordinating day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs.
- Operating in a safe working manner and supporting the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety, and the environment.

**About you**

Understanding the chain of custody within the food environment and a background of working on small to mid-sized quality improvement projects, such as implementing new procedures and defining new supporting documentation to underpin them - will be key.

You will be an excellent communicator who can work alone with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.
