Shop Assistant/supervisor

J&J Wilson are a company that specialises in operating supermarkets on holiday parks. With 80+ shops around the country. We are currently looking for a shop assistant/ supervisor for our shop on Skipsea Sands Holiday Park. This is to cover when the manager is on leave/days off. Shifts are between 7am and 9pm. This will include some weekend shifts. The position is from April through to October. Some lifting is required and the shop is busy so you will spend a lot of time on your feet.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail shop, ensuring excellent customer service. During managers days off and holidays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead a team of team members,providing guidance and support.
- Train new employees on product knowledge, and customer service
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
- Assign tasks to ensure efficient operation of the shop
- Maintain inventory levels and order new products as needed
- Assist customers with product selection, inquiries, and complaints
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed
- Monitor shop cleanliness and organization, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers
- Collaborate with management to develop sales strategies and meet sales targets
- Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in retail management or supervisory role preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and other retail software would be useful.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of sales techniques and customer service principles

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
