My client an ambitious specialist provider of Fibre broadband based in Essex, delivering gigabit-capable connections to rural communities throughout the East of England. Currently looking for a Network Engineer to join the team.

If selected, you will:

- Responsible for backbone and access network components including GPON, XGS-PON and ethernet links. Understanding internal and external business requirement, recommending and implementing solutions
- Review, design, own and optimize the CBL backbone and Access network (active network). Manage vendor relationships with current equipment supplier and new potential suppliers. Develop schematics for traffic aggregation and route protections etc
- Plan and deliver network upgrades, carryout lab tests for new active network components, witness factory etc. Oversee implementation of new initiative in active network
- Create and own the in life changes in the engineering documents of active network components. Create and document preventive maintenance plans for network components.
- Work closely with NOC team to review the Network Management System, align with CBL OSS and BSS system for seamless data transfer and processing. Document system integration architecture and manage in life changes
- Create and own the new active product onboarding process in CBL, document the equipment evaluation procedure
- Undertake network testing, simulations and root cause analysis of network issues reported by NOC/Operations teams.
- Own and implement Quality Assurance in network deployment and maintenance

Your Skills and experience:

- Full UK Driving License
- Experience of fixed line telecoms-based business
- Experience of working in layer 2 and 3 technologies
- Knowledge and exposure to network architecture of major telcos and AltNets in the UK
- Experience of planning and building fttx (GPON) networks using multiple solutions i.e overhead, underground, PIA, radio etc
- CCNA/CCNP
