We are looking for experienced planners to join our expanding work force based within the Southern Region at Orpington Delivery Unit. You will use planning processes, systems and databases to develop detailed, fully resourced and optimised work plans, for approval by Section Managers. There will be an element of administration but the role is predominantly planning.

You’ll produce work packs which include safe ways of working, liaise with manager and teams about upcoming projects, manage the work bank and available resource, whilst monitoring for errors and checking compliance has been maintained. You will manage the weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings to ensure that all critical work streams are captured. You will also be responsible for collating and maintaining maintenance records. Full training will be provided on all IT / database / systems / processes

We are looking for an individual who has good verbal and written communication skills and is very organised. Previous railway planning experience would be advantageous but not essential.

**About the role (External)**:
**Key Accountabilities**:

1. Plan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section.
2. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required.
3. Produce Safe System of Work plans.
4. Submit green zone access and isolation requests.
5. Produce draft quarterly plans.
6. Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings.
7. Represent Section Managers at planning meetings.
8. Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records.
9. Administration of rosters and timesheets.
10. Support the administration of the Assessment in The Line process.
11. Set up and maintain efficient filing systems for the Section(s) paying particular attention to confidentiality where necessary and also those documents deemed to be safety critical.
12. Undertake general office administration duties for the Section Manager using a range of knowledge and skills to provide effective support.

Essential
- Work Plan production and resource optimisation skills
- Scheduling profile in work planning/scheduling system
- Core Planning Skills Level 2
- Knowledge of access and possession processes and systems
- Safe System of Work Planning Process and System
- Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Experience of clerical support and office management
- Excellent time manager
- Knowledge of relevant IT systems
- Ability to work on own initiative

Desirable
- Knowledge of operational railway environment**Due to the nature of the role, it is ideally office based. However, recognising agility is important this can be flexible but a successful person would need to be in the office 3 days a week in line with our hybrid working policy.**
