Digital Imaging Innovation Lead

Based in West Midlands. Regular office attendance and work from home.

The West Midlands Image Network (WMIN) has developed a preferred way forward to meet its cross site image and report sharing, reporting, scheduling and business intelligence needs. WMIN is the largest imaging network in England (5 ICBs, 15 Trusts, and 45 hospitals) and has ambitious plans for an interoperable architecture. Plans are in hand to go out to market for this shortly.

**Role purpose**

The strategic vision and business case has been developed with Robin Breslin, a well known authority on digital imaging and imaging standards, from Nautilus consulting. The network now needs additional capacity and someone for Robin to hand over to, in the medium/long term. Additionally, WMIN seeks to exploit new opportunities in AI and emerging innovations. A long term AI strategy requires developing, as does some demonstrable innovation quick wins.

**Skills and knowledge**:

- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for digital imaging (radiology and related imaging) techniques, suppliers and standards
- Sound knowledge of multi organisation image sharing, reporting and scheduling
- A good view of AI’s potential in imaging
- Enthusiasm to lead and develop innovations in the imaging field
- Ability to think creatively.
- Excellent stakeholder skills (listening, influencing communicating)
- A team player, demonstrating empathy, openness and collaborative enquiry.
- An action oriented person, who knows when to wait.

Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is essential
