**Summary**:

- The Kennel Assistant helps provide care and welfare support to the Military Working Dogs (MWD) at RAF Marham alongside their RAF Police Handlers.
- This position is advertised at 37 hours per week**Job description**:

- A typical day would include exercising the MWD, preparing their food, ensuring their kennels and the surrounding area is kept clean and sanitary.**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring that all MWD’s receive the necessary exercise and enrichment, in accordance with extant policy and guidance.
- Conducting daily cleaning of all MWD kennels and associated areas. Ensure that all kennels are disinfected on a weekly basis also.
- Take on additional responsibility for MWD’s during periods of absences by their handlers, including their welfare and daily grooming as required.
- Prepare and administer the necessary diets for all MWD’s.
- Administration of veterinary treatments (where required).
- Ensuring that the standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout all relevant areas, and for all ancillary equipment utilised during the course of your duties.
- Ability to lift, restrain and handle MWD’s weighing up to 40kg.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by chain of command.
