**About the role**:
The main aspect of this role is supporting the young person in their transition from home into the school. This will be done through the building of empathetic relationships with the young person and their families, identification of the young persons challenges with school and creating an action plan to support the careful and planned reintegration of the young person.

Liaising with the Attendance Officer and Pastoral Leads, you will work with an identified cohort on a flexible basis to help young people overcome barriers to learning related to anxiety, as well as building confidence and resilience. You will be managing a caseload of students who require intervention, support and monitoring by identifying appropriate strategies and educational advice, contributing to the plan-do-review process. You may also be working with external agencies to support children back into education and will be required to monitor the attendance of students with alternative provision placements.

You will be researching and developing appropriate resources to support the young person and their family. Using Local Authority guidance and support where appropriate, as well as understanding and attending appropriate training and operating accordance with safeguarding and child protection requirements.

**About you**:
For this role, you would need to have good communication skills, an empathetic approach and be able to prioritise workload. The ability to work on their own initiative, as well as part of a team is essential.

You will be confident with the use of Microsoft Office, able to remain professional when handling confidential material, be an excellent communicator and ideally, have experience of working in a school or busy environment.
