Firefighters go towards dangerous situations in order to save lives when others are trying to get away. Supporting all of our staff in being safe at work and being effective in helping members of our communities is essential to our aim of Safer People, SaferPlaces.

We are looking to welcome a Health and Safety Advisor into our diverse and high performing Service.

You will be working in a small Health and Safety team and with partners in other departments to embed a positive Health and Safety culture for the Service.

The right person will offer, pragmatic advice balancing operational effectiveness and health and safety practice, collaborate on health and safety activity; willingness and desire to continually improve themselves and the service; and help in recognisingand reducing the impacts of hazards.

You will hold a formalised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) You must also be committed to your own development and maintaining CPD is essential. We provide opportunities for development and careerprogression. You will have excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.

**Interview and test date: 4th and 5th April**

You will automatically be enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), this is a tax approved, defined benefit occupational pension scheme. Your contributions are based on your earnings and you can choose from different income options when youretire.
