**Overview**:
Buckinghamshire Council have an exciting opportunity for two Early Help Liaison Officers based within Buckinghamshire Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

The MASH is the front door to children’s services and has a key role to play in supporting children, young people and their families across Buckinghamshire.

**About the role**:
The successful applicant will be able to make informed threshold recommendations based on information available and/or gathered via enquiries.

You will work closely_ _with multi-agency partners_ _to make effective, well-informed and prompt decisions around appropriate thresholds and ensure referrals requesting support are quality assured and ready for progression to early help teams.

You will follow management direction and within statutory timescales make appropriate enquiries with families, young people if appropriate, referrers and partner agencies to ascertain the need of support pathway. You will have a good knowledge and understanding of_ _the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership continuum of need (thresholds) and the full extent of the Buckinghamshire Early Help partnership offer._ _You will make recommendations about the appropriate package of support for families and will be confident in liaising with partner organisations where appropriate.

You will be available for responding to calls from professionals and members of the public, who are seeking advice to ascertain thresholds of need.

You will be able to distinguish what information you require to assist you in providing this advice.

**About you**:

- Attention to detail and accurate record creation are also required.
- A sound understanding of the BSCP’s continuum of need (thresholds) and the range of early help support available to children, young people and families is necessary to be effective in this role.
- Applicants must be able to represent the best interests of these vulnerable service users during threshold discussions with colleagues in First Response, the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and other service areas, to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
