**JOB SUMMARY**

The Functions Communications team provides strategic communications support to the Bank’s Functions and Management Team (MT) members. These teams are: Group Chief Financial Office (GCFO), Legal, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM).

We are looking to expand the team with a strong communications practitioner who will consult and work closely with the Communications Leads in the Functions Communication team to support delivery of internal and external communications content, as well as employee campaigns in support of the Bank’s purpose and strategy.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work across the Functions Communications team to support the development and delivery of internal and external communications campaigns using existing and new communications channels in the form of:

- Preparation of briefing documents, communications plans, and other presentation decks and materials.
- Audio call / video conference / virtual event support.
- Metrics, measurement and feedback - use data and insights to make recommendations to improve how we position and deliver our content through various channels.
- Source and develop stories to create and deliver content, in partnership with the content creation and digital channels teams, and communications employees.
- Work alongside the Functions Comms Leads to support Function-wide and Bank-wide campaigns. Includes day-to-day planning of activities, delivery of communications, and on-going measurement and insight.
- Develop a broader network across the Bank to help source stories for content development for fortnightly newsletter. Ownership of on-going content plan.
- Working with the Social Media team to help amplify Bank messaging for Functions Group Management Team (MT) members with their LinkedIn page, including measurement and insight. Working alongside the Functions Comms Leads in support of the overall social media plan.
- Ownership of intranet homepages for all Functions - including updating content in line with the Functions’ strategy and objectives, and keeping content up-to-date and relevant.
- Ensure consistency in tone and messaging for function communications, in alignment with the Bank’s overall business narrative, vision, values, when we engage and communicate internally and externally
- Stay abreast of internal and external communications trends and act as a catalyst within the team to try new approaches to message cut through and engagement.
- Make recommendations to improve our communications channels, processes, and content to better inform, connect, and inspire colleagues

**Processes**
- Accountable to risk control owners and/or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them, ensuring compliance, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite and building a culture of good conduct.
- Identify areas for Functions Communications process improvement (e.g., centralisation of data -collating data flows from all communications channels on a single platform) to increase functional effectiveness, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Engage the full suite of internal and external communications tools when delivering key Functions Communications campaigns on digital/physical platforms/channels.
- Ensure alignment between internal and external communications, in collaboration with the Brand, Marketing, and Communications teams.

**Other Responsibilities**

Serve on Functions working groups and committees as needed. Member of the Internal Communications Community of Practice to share priorities and communications initiatives from Group that Business, Function, Region and Market communicators need to know about, making specific asks for support and activations where needed. Take on special assignments to support Functions Communications priorities as needed, including support for Functions Communications Leads during peak periods of activity.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience of advising clients on how to effectively communicate, considering risks, opportunities, and the greater context of the company’s strategy.
- Experience contributing to and delivering strategic plans in support of a business objective/agenda.
- Experience of working for global organisations across geographies and cultures to set and deliver proactive communications strategies.
- The ability to think through desired outcomes of communications strategies and tactics and measure and adjust approach as required.
- A curious and creative mindset and comfortable with analysing data/data visualisation.
- Experience in creating and developing content to support or enhance a strategy/narrative, including strong storytelling skills.
