We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Structured Trade.

Reporting to the Head of Sales, Global Trade & Receivables Finance (GTRF) UK, the Head of Structured Trade will lead and manage a team of structured trade finance specialists to support the wider UK GTRF business with origination and execution of complex structured trade facilities including supply chain finance (SCF), Asset Based Lending (ABL), ECA backed lending, clubbed and syndicated facilities and multi-jurisdiction transactions. This individual will lead engagement with the Portfolio

Management Distribution team and drive external engagement to showcase the value of the Global Trade & Receivables Finance (GTRF) suite of structured trade products to the market.

The role of the Head of Structured Trade will have accountability for driving the sustainability / ESG agenda across the segments, identifying and capturing business growth opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, driving awareness and education across the wider GTRF team, collaborating with Product in the delivery of new ESG solutions, leading the GTRF ESG Advocate network and supporting the structuring of complex and non-complex sustainably linked client solutions including supporting deal teams through the Sustainable Finance Forum.

The job holder will be expected to maximise structured trade performance across all segments through providing a depth of expertise and capabilities to support business development managers with both origination and structuring of more complex transactions.

The role holder is expected to contribute to the development of HSBC’s overall Trade and Receivables Finance strategy and implement the global strategic direction for the UK Commercial Banking GTRF business. Key to this will be engagement with the Global Chief Growth Office to drive CGO initiatives locally.

Additionally, the role requires the effective management of sales suitability, money laundering, counter terrorist financing, fraud and reputational risk.

In this role, you will:

- Lead a team of structured trade experts to grow the structured trade business in a sustainable, responsible and compliant manner.
- Drive internal and external engagement to enhance and maximise the origination opportunities across SCF, ABL and UKEF/ECA backed facilities.
- Facilitate a Working Capital Solutions approach to enhance client interactions.
- Retain and grow existing customer portfolios to maintain and increase income to HSBC both domestically and internationally through effective collaboration with the Global Chief Growth Office.
- Support the wider GTRF sales team to broaden and deepen client relationships, ensuring a customer centric approach at all times leading to increased Net Promoter scores (NPS).
- Drive GTRF’s customer planning and monitoring/contact as part of the Commercial Banking (CMB) client planning process.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across, inter alia, CMB coverage, global GTRF, Product, Risk and Services.
- Lead, develop, coach, and motivate the team for success.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Deep knowledge and experience of structuring Supply Chain Finance, Receivables Finance and Asset Based Lending.
- Strong working knowledge of core trade and guarantees.
- Extensive network across the professional community and a track record of deal origination using this network.
- Experience of operating in an environment of rapidly changing priorities and high maturity in matrix management structures.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engaged and successful teams.
- Strong financial and accounting acumen.
- Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively, balancing the growth age
