We are currently looking for dedicated Children’s Senior Support Workers for a Children’s Residential Home based in Newhaven, Portsmouth area.

The Home provides vulnerable children who have experienced abuse and those that suffer from learning disabilities with a safe, nurturing environment for them to experience genuine therapeutic care.

This a unique opportunity for someone to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most.

**This is a permanent, Full Time Position.**

**The Service does not offer sponsorship.**

**Salary**:
**£28,080 - £30,000 **including sleep in shifts.

**Schedule**:

- Wednesday to Wednesday one week off one week off - mixed shifts.
- Averages 37.5 hours a week.

**Requirements**:

- Full Driving License
- NVQ Level 3 Children's and Young People Services. (preferred). Clients will accept Level 3 in Health and Social Care if the experience is relevant.
- At least two years of experience working in a Children’s Residential Home in the UK.

**Duties**:

- Provide with children with a safe, therapeutic environment to help the child progress.
- Manage the home effectively in the absence of the home or deputy manager.
- Efficiently manage the home’s finances.
- Manage health and safety procedures and risk assessments in the home.
- Commit to the safeguarding and welfare of the children.
- Help with the children’s personal development and act as both an adult role model and mentor.
- To ensure the children maintain a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
- Be aware of the children’s rights, allowing them to share their voice.
- Tend to the children’s individual needs
- To quickly respond to any emergencies in the home, should they arise.
- Engage, communicate, talk and listen to the children and young people.
- To liaise with and be a point of contact with external organisations, (schools etc) where appropriate.
- Assist with the preparation and scheduling of meetings where required, taking part and contributing to them also.
- To work alongside psychologists to enable effective integration of care and therapy.
- To lead the team in the absence of a deputy manager
- Support the induction process of new colleagues
- Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home to the highest standard.
- Deliver the highest standard of home making.
- To take ownership of the home and pride in its upkeep.
- To adhere to the therapeutic model of practice and care procedures
- To be able to take responsibility for own your own personal development.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £28,080.00-£30,000.00 per year
