**People Advisor (Employee Relations) Corserv Care**

Corserv Care are looking for a People Advisor to join their new People Team. This is a great opportunity to work across four different parts of our care business, supporting employees countywide. Our team is small and growing and we are looking for people professionals who share our values and our mission statement,_**working together to improve the lives of people in Cornwall.**_

As a Cornwall Council owned company, Corserv Care offer Reablement and Domiciliary care, nursing home care and Technology Enabled Care Lifeline & assistive living services. Your role as the People Advisor (ER) will be to provide expert, relevant and timely employment advice, guidance and practical support, and proactive business focused employment solutions. We are looking at a period of growth over the next 12 months and we would like you to be part of that journey.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Manage a varied caseload extending across the full range of individual employment issues.
- Implement appropriate interventions to secure the timely resolution of individual and collective workplace matters, promoting creative business focused solutions that operate at the leading edge of employment practice, are fair, open and transparent and sustain a positive and healthy employee relations climate.
- Investigate, present or advise on cases at formal hearings under the relevant procedures and liaise with legal advisers in relation to the management of claims to the Employment Tribunal, ensuring that the interests and reputation of the Company are safeguarded. Escalate Stage 2 / 3 Level Hearings to the Senior People Partner as required.
- Under the guidance of the Senior People Partner, contribute expert advice, guidance and practical support to organisational change and/or service improvement projects, in collaboration with colleagues within the HR service, that is consistent and fair across and aligned with Corserv Care’ values, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with managers in identifying high potential individuals, developing and providing opportunities in CCL and the wider business.
- Provide professional support and coaching to improve management capability and capacity to address individual and collective workplace issues and, where appropriate, promote and facilitate alternatives to the procedural routes for addressing these issues, such as mediation.
- Undertake and support specific HR projects, as and when required.
- Develop strong and positive relationships with managers across the business, including attendance at key meetings to advise and support on current/future activity.
- Alongside the Senior People Partner, develop positive relationships with the trade unions, promoting a partnership approach and encouraging a healthy employee relations climate.
- Collect and compile statistics on HR key performance indicators as required including responsibility for HR metrics, reporting internally and externally as requested/required.
- Maintain required case management records.
- Champion the principles and practice of equality and diversity and equality of opportunity.
- Seek out opportunities for growth and development, maintain personal and professional development and share learning with others in the interests of sustaining a high level of knowledge and expertise individually and across the team.
- Represent the HR Service internally and externally, promoting and enhancing its reputation.

**About you**
- Has a sound understanding of employment legislation and regulatory bodies in order to manage employee relations cases
- Broad based knowledge of employment legislation and demonstrating up to date knowledge and best practice thinking
- Has an in-depth understanding of the company’s HR policies, procedures and practices and knows how to coach others in this area.
- Confident and credible delivery of information to a wide range of audiences
- Highly articulate, with excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to listen to and engage with people at all levels
- Uses data to develop insight and support decision-making
- Has the knowledge and skills to research, interpret, maintain and report information
- Proficient at identifying and solving problems
- Competent at maintaining security and confidentiality
- Highly organised with keen attention to detail, an ability to deliver to deadlines and to prioritise effectively
- CIPD qualified or part qualified
- Degree qualified or demonstrable relevant experience.
- **UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle.**

The following are desirable:

- Level 5 CIPD qualified
- Employment Law qualification

**Our offer to you**

**Salary: £24,450 - £34,814**

**Working Hours**:37 per week flexible between core working hours Monday to Friday.

**Contract Type**:Fixed term contract 12 months
