Grounds Maintenance Operative

The Grounds Maintenance Operative will support the Building Services department in the general maintenance and upkeep of grounds across the London City Airport estate. You will also provide additional support to the Handyperson team as per operational requirement.

**As Grounds Maintenance Operative your key responsibilities include**:

- Build a comprehensive understanding of the London City Airport estate with particular regard to those areas with grounds maintenance requirements through developed practices, continuous assessment and training.
- Ensure that London City Airport grounds are upheld to a clean and safe standard whilst providing an attractive proposition to passengers and the general public.
- Provide horticultural services to include weeding, hedge cutting, plant care and watering.
- Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary.
- To assist with winter operations preparation and tasks as per operational needs.
- Maintaining grounds keeping supplies, vehicles, tools and inventory.
- Ensuring that all records are maintained in accordance with best practice standards.
- To assist in pest control activities, as required.
- To assist with Handyperson duties, as required.

- Maintain a proactive attitude to all aspects of the role.

**You must also have**:

- Experience in gardening or related industry (Essential)
- Full Driving License (Essential)
- Hold/have the ability to obtain a PA1/PA6 Spray certificate (Essential)
- Customer service skills (Essential)
- Hold/have the ability to obtain IPAF 3A/3B (Essential)
- Hold/have the ability to obtain PASMA (Essential)

**Additionally you may have**:

- Trailer License (Desirable)
- Forklift trained (Desirable)

**Hours of Work**:

- Full-time, permanent.
- May require early/late shift working.
- On occasion, may be required to work outside of operational hours.
