We have a current opportunity for a Scrum Master on a contract basis. The position will be based in Reigate twice a week outside of IR35.
- Coaching and mentoring teams, managers, sponsors, stakeholders, PMs, Product Owners (anyone who's role has an impact on team performance). Using your agile knowledge and experience to help them take the next step on their agile journey
- Facilitating teams through each lifecycle phase and iteration to continuously improve and achieve greater and greater success, whilst holding and helping them through failure.
- Teaching teams, and anyone else who may benefit, agile practice according to the maturity and need of the audience. This should include:

- Scrum
- Kanban
- The principles and values
- The purpose of every ceremony
- Story mapping
- Refinement and story splitting techniques
- Sizing techniques
- Prioritisation techniques
- Release planning
- product road-mapping
- XP practices
- Seeking and exposing symptoms to problems and finding ways to bring these to the team for resolution. Where symptoms stem from a source outside the team where they lack influence - taking on the responsibility for resolving it for them.
- Helping your team navigate conflict and moving them from destructive conflict to constructive disagreement as a catapult to high performance
- Being a role model and mirror for the team - role modelling the teams values to build trust, creating anticipation and excitement for them and their journey then holding up a mirror for them to see dysfunction, waste, inefficiency and anything else that itholding them back from their to journey to an awesome delivery culture and relentless continuous improvement
- Being a servant leader and leadership partner - shielding the team from distraction and noise whilst also bringing them closer to stakeholders and accountability, creating complete transparency on their progress, providing rich data that prompts sponsorsand leadership to ask what they can do differently to better serve the team
- Being an agent of change and transformation for the whole organisation such that as your team matures you can start to look up and around for other areas to bring your ideas and learning to and influence for change. Being a strong advocate for communitiesof practice, helping teams use these to solve problems, and being a passionate member of your own, bringing learning, new ideas, shared problems and energy to the practise.

**Qualifications**:

- Certified Scrum Master
- iCAgile Certified Professional - Agile Fundamentals (desired)
Skills and Knowledge
- In depth knowledge of Scrum and Kanban, ideally with some exposure to scaling (scaled scrum, LeSS or SAFe practices)
- Genuine understanding of how to put individuals and interactions over processes and tools in your day to day dealings with the team
- Agile principles and values in your DNA
- Real passion and excitement for how agile practises and lean thinking can create an awesome and inspiring delivery culture
- Strong facilitator with experience running engaging and creative planning sessions, retrospectives and reviews
- Demonstrable experience coaching Product Owners who are new to the role
- Experience in a range of sizing and forecasting techniques with an emphasis on measuring outcome not output
- Experienced servant leader and team coach able to remove impediments and provide guidance on backlog creation, refinement, feature slicing
- Understands the fundamentals of software development processes and practices
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Be able to demonstrate an attitude of empowerment, leading a team to self-organisation
Experience
- Coaching scrum masters, product owners, team members, stakeholders and senior leadership
- Active contributor to a scrum master community of practice
- Mix of delivery experience advantageous
- Kanban, XP, Design Thinking, Coaching Competency
