Help us make a difference as a **Multi Skilled Operator **at our plastics recycling plant in **Redcar.**

**Shifts**:4 days on & 4 off **then **4 nights on & 4 off.

**Rates of pay**:£10.15 per hour + shift allowance with opportunity for overtime paid at 1.5.

**A quick look at the role.**

To operate and monitor machinery including a FLT (Forklift) to a safe and satisfactory standard, Communicate any problems or obstacles to immediate supervisor, Strive to reduce waste and increase productivity across all lines & Support your shift colleagues in achieving excellence in health and safety, product quality, asset performance and employee engagement on shift.

**The Biffa division you’ll be supporting.**

Within **Resources & Energy** we focus on the treatment, recycling and disposal of waste. It provides a number of treatment services for those materials that can be recovered and landfill disposal for those that are not suitable for recycling or energy recover.

Our **Polymers** business is a leading producer of recycled plastic compounds from its facilities in Redcar and Seaham. Redcar products include HDPE one plastic used in the production of milk bottles and food trays - the first of its kind in the UK. Our Seaham plant is also capable of converting 57,000 tonnes of PET plastic a year. Equivalent to 1.3bn plastic bottles.

- Responsible for your personal Health & Safety and a duty of care to others working when you are on shift. Ensure all required correct PPE is worn at all times and adhere to the policies about mobile phones or portable listening devices in working areas
- Carry out operator duties regarding machine running for optimum performance and availability. Ensure machine TPM’s are fully completed safely and correctly
- Support shift participation in near miss and hazard reporting to assist Biffa Polymers in achieving excellence in health and safety as well as meeting business KPI’s
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout all internal and external working areas
- Support your shift ensuring machines are always manned

**Requirements**:

- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety in an industrial / processing environment
- Ensure employee safety and morale by maintaining a safe working environment
- Fork Lift Licence but not essential (Training provided)
- Experience within an industrial environment but not essential (Training provided)
- Previous operational experience but not essential (Training provided)
