As a Business Diagnostic Consultant under Sefton Council’s, you will play a pivotal

role in assessing and diagnosing fundamental business issues across a variety of

sectors. Your expertise will help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within

Sefton to identify challenges and opportunities, guiding them towards strategic

growth and operational efficiency.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct in-depth business diagnostics to evaluate client operations, financial

health, and market positioning.
- Provide tailored business recommendations based on diagnostic findings.
- Assist in the preparation and development of actionable business proposals.
- Collaborate with other consultants and specialists to ensure comprehensive

support is provided.
- Maintain meticulous records of consultations, including detailed reports and follow
- up actions.
- Engage with clients through face-to-face consultations at their business premises,

ensuring personalised service delivery.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate SME owners on best

business practices and strategic planning.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a Level 3 Business Management Qualification or equivalent.
- Active membership with a recognised business consultancy or management
- Proven experience in business diagnostics, strategic planning, and SME

consulting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business data effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of

building relationships with business owners.
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and insightful reports.
- Proficient in the use of business diagnostic tools and software.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Additional certifications or qualifications in financial analysis, project management,

or related fields.
- Experience working with public sector or council-funded business support

programmes.
