**The opportunity: Employee Relations Advisor - 6 month FTC Purfleet, Essex/Hybrid**

**About the opportunity**:
This is a super exciting opportunity to join our fantastic team of experts to support our colleagues for the continued success and growth of **Carpetright.**

You’ll be helping us make **Carpetright **a great place to work through the provision of appropriate, legally compliant, and balanced employee relations advice to colleagues and management, ensuring fairness and equity to all parties.

**About The Opportunity**:

- Provide advice, support and guidance to Line Managers and colleagues in all employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, appeal, performance management, redundancy, and capability.
- Act as the custodian of consistency to ensure fairness and equity to colleagues across the estate. Ensure that the advice provided is consistent and legally compliant as well as being aligned with company policy, protocols, and precedents.
- Manage employee relations cases from end to end ensuring accurate record keeping and administration.
- Create and foster excellent relationships with the immediate ER Team and wider HR Teams based on credibility, confidence, and professionalism.
- Contribute to the development of initiatives and strategies to develop and improve the Company’s colleague relations policies and processes in line with business objectives.
- To act as a champion for the Company’s values and act as a positive role model for all colleagues, recognising the value of team working and positively reinforce co-operation, mutual support and commitment from all colleagues.

**About your Experience**:

- You’ll have experience in a similar role preferably within a multi-site retail environment.
- Experience of working with management levels.
- Excellent understanding of the UK & Ireland employment legislation.
- You’ll be an expert in summarising cases, challenging Managers, providing options and recommendations.
- Part Qualified CIPD (preferred).
- The ability to resolve complex cases using expert knowledge and experience.
- IT literate with excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point skills
- Basic knowledge of and experience in using relevant HR systems

- The ability to work at pace and under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Can demonstrate a commercial approach to employee relation matters.
- Excellent organisational & prioritisation capability with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer obsessed.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, and always with a smile
