**Objective**

To support the Financial Administrator in managing The Cart Shed’s finances and provision of financial information to the Board to enable Trustees to discharge their charitable responsibilities.

As the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial management of the charity. This role will allow the postholder to make a significant contribution by ensuring the efficient operation of financial processes within the organisation.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

1. Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software and spreadsheets with reference to the Charity’s Financial Guiding Principles Document

2. Process financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and expenses

a. Raise monthly invoices for personal budgets in line with Local Authority timelines

b. Raise other invoices as required

c. Support production of monthly payroll

d. Respond to queries in a timely manner

3. Reconcile bank statements ensuring accuracy and completeness

4. Maintain fixed asset register and update as required, ensuring monthly depreciation is calculated in line with relevant policies

5. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting

a. Produce schedule of monthly income & expenditure accurals

b. Input journals

c. Produce draft financial reports

6. Monitor cashflow and update on a monthly basis

7. Ensure control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis

8. Assist in year-end review of financial records prior to submission for preparation of annual accounts by our Accountants

9. Provide support during independent review process

10. Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure effective financial management

11. To undertake other duties as may be required to ensure The Cart Shed meets it financial obligations

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: £23,575.00-£28,000.00 per year
