The post holder will lead and manage a provision of services that span across student systems and records. This role will suit an experienced student systems manager/leader who can lead development of student systems, reporting, ongoing systems maintenance and has experience within a similar role.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
This is an exciting new role and one where you can make a real difference to key areas that impact and support an outstanding student and staff experience. You will report directly to the Assistant Director Delivery Services and will hold key accountability for student systems reporting, student records, student systems training and the student lifecycle, ensuring services within the post holder’s remit are aligned (through negotiation) to other relevant Professional Services teams, ensuring high-quality customer service is monitored and measured appropriately.

You will be responsible for leading and managing multiple teams and drive forward process change and improvement underpinned by student systems development, reporting and records management, equipping teams across the University with the training they need to effectively use a variety of student systems.

Through effective management of multiple teams, the Head of Student Systems and Records will:

- Oversee maintenance of multiple systems including SITS (student records system) and ARC (placement management).
- Ensure that services delivered meet high standards and to agreed service level agreements.
- Manage workload allocation and project manage key business priorities.
- Lead on the student data reporting requirements that meet the needs of the business users and align with external data requirements.
- Manage the annual systems maintenance activity and plan resources to enable all deadlines and routine updates to be completed.
- Be an expert advisor on systems and records, collaborating with other departments where required and specifically in relation to system integration, solutions and advice on system developments and functionality.
- Develop external networks, sharing best practice and driving a culture of client centred continuous improvement that supports the ever changing HE landscape e.g., system configuration for external reporting.
- Deliver a systems’ training strategy and deploy an annual systems’ training plan via the Student Systems Training and Support team that takes into account user development requirements, is aligned to the academic calendar and linked to data quality and records maintenance. This will include the production of material and resources to support training, supporting different learning styles.
- Advise on and oversee the integration of systems and exports/imports of data.
- Ensure overall system integrity and performance, including but not limited to batched processes, system configuration, and coding and design standards.

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Educated to first degree level or able to demonstrate a combination of professional qualifications, skills, and experience at an equivalent level.
- Extensive experience in the use and development of a corporate student record system, in particular SITS:EVision and experience from a similar role.
- A level of high computer literacy and data interrogation tools and ability to deliver creative systems solutions in line with business requirements and strategy.
- Substantial successful project management experience.
- Experienced leader and people manager, with the ability to support, develop and motivate a team.
- High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, negotiate, support change, and develop strong stakeholder relationships, relaying information to technical and non-technical individuals.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively deliver operational work plans and achieve service level agreements.
