Head of Logistics

**Head of Logistics - The Role**

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Head of Logistics for a recycling and waste business based in the Mid-Kent location. In this role you will be required to ensure the profitable and compliant operation of all vehicle fleets with a direct reporting line, in accordance with the Company’s overall corporate strategy.

**Key duties Include**
- Expand and optimise all logistics operations to ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy
- Lead the fleet and vehicle workshop management teams and to manage their continuous improvements
- Accountability for the delivery of all relevant budgets
- Analyse the daily vehicle performance of logistics operations (eg VPRs) and identify areas where improvements could be made.
- To assist with the development and where relevant the implementation of contingency plans where risks or threats have been identified.
- Develop long term partnership working arrangements with internal and external customers.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
- Lead and manage the implementation of all compliance issues relating to all fleets (including Skips) operated by the company.
- Lead or assist in key projects relating to logistic operations as delegated by the Board.
- Implement the Company’s fleet procurement and asset disposal strategy.
- Manage the third-party relationships with vehicle suppliers and external maintenance service providers.
- Oversee arrangements with subcontractors for all reporting fleets.
- Support the implementation of road transport compliance policies, standards and procedures through training and communication.
- Manage and maintain the Company’s Operator’s Licence
- Hold the position of CPC holder for the Company

**Previous Skills/Experience**
- Previously worked within a waste management business in a similar role
- Hold a certificate of professional competence
- Attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Knowledge of logistics systems
- Understanding of transport limitations and regulations
- Planning skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Understanding of transportation issues
- Knowledge of waste logistics

**Salary**: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
