**The Role**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Lanarkshire’s Procurement team for a Strategic Sourcing Officer.

NHS Lanarkshire has an annual trade spend with its suppliers of around £250m with the Procurement & Logistics Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions. The Procurement team at Lanarkshire plays an important role in achieving financial sustainability and delivering improved services that will reduce cost and free up revenue and time to extend to front-line care.

Working as part of a wider Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Team, the Strategic Sourcing Officer will play a key role in delivering the contracts for the goods, services and works which support patient care in Lanarkshire. The role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a range of categories, with particular opportunities for the Strategic Sourcing Officer to work on complex Estates and Facilities related Contracts.

We are looking for the post holder to have relevant professional knowledge acquired through a degree or equivalent (i.e. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies (MCIPS) or Scottish Vocations Qualification Level 4 (SVQ4) and/or specialist knowledge acquired through continual education and training. Day to day, the post holder will be largely self-managing and should have ability to independently lead procurement processes to a successful conclusion in accordance with the NHS Lanarkshire’s policies, strategic objectives, and pertinent legislation.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent i.e. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies (MCIPS) or Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 4, (SVQ4) and or specialist knowledge acquired through continual education and training.
- Procurement Management skills, Negotiation skills and literate in modern IT systems to provide analysis of information and presentations to senior managers.
- Knowledge of Public Procurement Legislation.
- Commercial and Business knowledge.
- Experience of Procurement and Supply chain management activity.
- Analytical skills.
- Good communication skills in oral, written and presentation format.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good keyboard skills.

**It would be great if you also have**:

- CIPS Advanced Diploma (Level 5) or higher level qualification.
- Experience of procurement in any of the following spend areas: 1. Medical equipment or consumables, 2. Estates / Facilities
- Project Management skills.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical skills (Advanced Excel and Business Objects).
- Ability to interpret complex information and evidence based data to provide direction.
- Ability to manage high level of work, multiple complex projects.
- Driving Licence and ability to drive to sites across NHS Lanarkshire.

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Procurement & Logistics Team within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters. The department currently has a hybrid approach to working based on 2 office days a week.

The working pattern for this role Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Part-time working may be considered.
