**Warehouse Operative - FLT**
**Stead House - Darlington**

**Role Purpose**:
The forklift Operative is responsible for operating a forklift truck to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform other roles within the warehouse. You will need to be customer focused where you will maintain optimum levels of stock in both storage and pick slots working to set KPI standards. The role will report to the Operations Team Leader for Northern Region Distribution Centre.

**A typical day in this role includes**:
Storing stock from Goods In
Replenishing stock
Taking waste to the baler
Assisting with stock taking
Working with required KPI standards
Maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work area
Staying aware of possible hazards
Harness training will be provided to allow the operator to work at height to complete stock takes and to help when a driver has a pallet out

**What you’ll need**:
Flexible approach of performing other duties within the warehouse as requested by your line manager
The ability to drive a forklift truck safely and efficiently
Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work on your own
Good hand-eye coordination
Good communication skills
Knowledge of the safety procedures regarding the use of forklift trucks.
