Finance Administration Assistant

Hours - Full-time, Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
The Finance & Administration Assistant will play an essential role in providing support to the operational running of the company. Through maintaining financial systems, recording, and processing information, data entry and general financial and business administration.
We are looking for a someone who has some experience in credit control and purchase ledger but would also like to develop knowledge in finance and business as a whole and is keen to learn and grow with the company.
**Duties**
- Ensure the accounts payable are kept in line with company payment terms.
- Make sure suppler invoices are approved by the relevant authoriser within the business.
- Deal with any customer and supplier queries.
- Chase customer for payment and keep accurate records of correspondence.
- Keep satisfactory records to facilitate a smooth and cost-effective audit at each year end.
- Complete monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Undertaking of any other financial and general administration to support the business as required.
- Working for the benefit of the whole organisation.
- Complying with company policies and procedures.
**Person Specification**
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills
- Professional experience of financial and general administration tasks
- A high level of numeracy and financial awareness
- A high level of computer literacy and knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and to use own initiative to solve problems proactively.
- Organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Work with complete confidentiality.
- Ability to work as part of a small team or on their own.
- Experience of working in credit control and purchase ledger or within a finance department.
