Berrys Coachesare recruiting for a Forward Scheduler/Allocator based at its operation Taunton.

Berrys Coaches (Taunton) Limited is a family run coach business which has been operating since 1920 and currently operates up to 70 vehicles. We are looking for an experienced coach transport Forward Scheduler/Allocator on a permanent and full-time basis.

The hours for this position are Monday to Friday working between 08:00 to 17:00. Some flexibility on hours may be possible by agreement.

**Duties will Include**:

- Being responsible for the planning and optimisation of the daily transport plan, ensuring the most profitable and cost-effective plans are delivered utilising PHC software.
- Allocating both vehicles and drivers both to our regular services and to our private hire work.
- Ensuring allocations comply with all relevant regulations including Driver’s hours and rest periods.
- Liaising with Drivers, Operations team and our Workshop as required.
- Booking hotels, ferries and others as required for tours and events.
- Managing and coordinating junior staff in order to ensure the work is done.
- All such other duties as reasonably requested by the Transport Managers and Directors as shall be required from time to time.
- Being on call on a fixed rota basis.

**Skills required**:

- Previous transport planning experience, ideally with a coach company.
- Competent and confident IT skills.
- Clear and logical thinking with an attention to detail.
- Strong and effective organising, planning and process work methods.
- Good understanding of the relevant laws and regulations including driver’s hours drivers hours.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ideally (but not essential) a knowledge of PHC (Distinctive Systems) IT systems
