Siemens Energy Ulverston are looking for a Trainee Production Planner to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The Trainee Planner role is expected to cover an approximated two year period with the progressed development into a Production Planner role after full training is complete.

As a Trainee Production Planner, you will gain knowledge and experience in the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our Production operations by helping organise production according to demand within a busy manufacturing setting ensuring our goods are produced on time to Customer requirements in a profitable manner. The role will work closely with a number of internal teams including Customer Delivery, Logistics (Warehouse and Despatch), Production, Procurement, R&D, New Product Development and Finance.

**How You’ll Make an Impact**

The Trainee Production Planner will primarily gain skills and understanding from team members who are responsible for the day-to-day management of existing and future manufacturing schedules, delivering planned, monitor ongoing activities and to ensure customer programs are met in a timely manner.

Skills you will learn
- Ensure the timely processing of Production orders, Internal queries, improvement plans and adhoc internal services.
- Liaise closely with the supply chain management.
- Review WIP demand via BOM/stock requirements and capacity analysis via routing demand and forecast interrogation.
- Define and control the detailed manufacturing reports ensuring on time release and scheduling of work-in progress.
- Safety stock monitoring and MRP controls
- Deploy the planning tools i.e. SAP, Inventory Control, KPIs and have the flexibility to use and develop new methods of working within a continually changing environment.
- Responsible for the movement of each production order through the manufacturing.

**Your Profile**

It is preferrable that you have some Administration and / or transferrable skill base to effectively move into the Planning and Manufacturing environment. You will gain experience in MRP/ERP. Given the level of interaction with multiple functions across the business it is essential you have highly skilled written and oral communication, excellent organisational skills and that you are able to maintain quality in your work even during times of high demand but also relish working as part of a wider team to achieve our shared goal.

Skills you will learn

Role requirements
- A good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Previous MRP experience would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook, Lean Management, TeamCentre, Sharepoint and Teams would be an advantage.
