**About the role**

We are looking to recruit an Estimating Engineer (GI) based at our Kirkby-in-Ashfield office. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on permanent position with a dynamic and progressive company.

As an Estimating Engineer (GI) for our Strata Geotechnical Division you will be determining the scope of projects, review preliminary data and deliverables such as proposal specifications and drawings, as well as attending pre-bid meetings, etc. to determinethe scope of work and required contents of the estimate.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
This challenging and exciting opportunity involve the following:

- Assist with the estimating of all aspects of projects
- Work closely with the Estimating Director and other members of the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and the highest standards
- Assist in the process structure for bids and tenders, and review the effectiveness of this at regular intervals, which will include providing the necessary skills to help particular aspects of any bid to achieve a greater percentage of success.
- Liaise with existing clients and new client contacts to assist in the procurement of potential work opportunity.
- Manage and co-ordinate information and the communication process both within the team and to external bodies.
- Work with the management proactively and effectively, helping to ensure that individual targets are achieved or exceeded, including attendance at weekly and monthly progress meetings.

**Essential Skills**
- Previous knowledge and experience of Ground Investigation in the UK
- A strong technical background and demonstrable experience in estimating and bidding for ground investigation contracts
- Sound commercial awareness, and successful bids and tenders’ management techniques in these sectors.
- Experience of assisting in the production, completion, and management of a range of proposals.
- Excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritise and delegate against deadlines through effective progress reporting procedures.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management and risk management, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, flexible, and self-motivated.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Qualified to Degree level (essential)
- Valid CSCS card (desirable)
