Community Ambulance Assistant - Preston - PR3

Are you ready for the next exciting chapter of your career in patient care?

We have a new opportunity for a Full Time Community Ambulance Assistant at Ambulnz Community Partners to support non-emergency transfers of patients for admissions, discharges and intra hospital transfers. Ambulnz Community Partners (ACP) are proud to be an established private ambulance provider with a deeply rooted history in supporting the NHS. We transfer, assess, care, treat and transport hundreds of patients along with their carers/relatives in non-emergency, urgent and emergency situations every week.

Do you take a caring approach to everything you do?

To enhance your patients experience, it is important that you are an excellent listener who enjoys meeting new people. All our patients have different needs, and it is down to you to make sure that they are made to feel comfortable while on their journey. You will have a real opportunity to make a difference.

Main Duties:

- You will provide a professional and caring service to all patients
- Providing the highest standards of clinical and personal care within the inter-hospital and pre-hospital environment
- Responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Control Room staff, senior clinicians, scene manager and any other authorised manager
- Support the lead clinician by providing effective clinical care using appropriate knowledge and skills to assist them with making professional judgements, conducting diagnostic procedures, and providing safe and effective treatments
- Driving all types of approved Ambulance Service vehicles under normal conditions in accordance with road traffic law
- Ensuring safe transfer of patients to and from the vehicles, considering the safety of the patient, self, and colleagues. Using the most appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques
- Providing accurate and legible completion of all relevant documents including vehicle and equipment log sheets
- Able to organise and manage complex incidents
- Utilise relevant information to assist patients, patient advocates or carers to make informed health choices in line with national guidance

Are you ready to be part of the Ambulnz Community Partners team? To be a part of our crews you need to:

- Have at least 4 years driving experience and no more than 3 points on your licence (for insurance purposes)
- Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry (lots of stairs), manual handling and CPR

- Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
- This is a full-time position, working an average of 40 hours per week. You need to be flexible as we run a 24/7 service to support the NHS, this includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What is in it for you?
- A workplace within a supportive community environment with community-driven values and community-driven vision.
- High standard vehicles with high specification kit.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum
- Statutory pension scheme should you wish to opt in
- £10 an hour
