Our Client is the UK's biggest end-to-end commercial vehicle fleet management business, managing and maintaining a fleet of 80,000 vehicles across 65 garages.
They are offering an exciting opportunity for an LCV Technician to join the team based at their Wimbledon Workshop on a full-time permanent basis, these are Monday to Friday/Day shifts, no weekends.
At the Wimbledon Workshop, as an LCV Technician, you will be responsible for conducting vehicle repairs, this will include inspection, maintenance, repair and service of all types of mechanical assets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance and repair of diverse fleet of vehicles, including prestige cars, light vehicles, large vans, trailers and mechanical aids.
- Fault diagnosing and repairs, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our dealer status with some manufacturers e.g., Ford, Fiat and Vauxhall
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
- Welding (if authorised & qualified)
- Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)
- Completing job cards, booking of parts and consumables using our electronic platform
- Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
- Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
- Use of skills and performance of other work within normal grade/job skills as required by the Workshop Manager to maximise workshop efficiency
- Ad-hoc duties as required
- Excellent timekeeping
- Health and safety at work and workshop cleanliness is of paramount importance
Skills & Experience Required
- Ideally be qualified as an LCV Technician to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance Repair
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work within given timeframes
- Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing.
- Diagnostics skills are desirable
