We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy assistant to join our pharmacy team within the technical services department at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The technical services team are responsible for the ordering, supply checking and distribution of Parenteral Nutrition and Chemotherapy to patients in the trust. As part of this team working alongside Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in Technical Services as well as the large department.

You will also participate in dispensary rotations to carrying out dispensing duties. This will include late night and weekend cover.
- To provide support to the Pharmacy Technical Services team at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. To perform a wide range of ordering, receiving, delivery, invoicing and supply duties.
- To carry out day to day tasks relating to the provision of Parenteral Nutrition (PN) and Chemotherapy services, under the supervision of the lead pharmacy technician.
- Support and maintain a safe, efficient timely and accurate service ensuring the required standards are met.
- To participate in stock control management, identifying stock discrepancies, maintaining adequate levels of stock and preventing wastage of drugs due to expiry, including within the dispensing robot.
- To use the current pharmacy computer system to record all issues, stock transfers and returns accurately and responsibly in order to maintain stock balances and promote efficient ordering and distribution.
- Support the team with dispensing duties, reception duties and ward stock replenishment.
