Royal College Manchester offers specialist education for students aged 19 to 25 with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs, and autism. We provide highly specialised care and support to ensure each student’s needs are understood and met thanks to our dedicated teams.

As a Careers Advisor, you will be closely working with the curriculum Advanced Practitioner to develop the careers and transition strategy for our students within the Royal College Manchester. The role will develop career plans for all young people within in the College in line with their aspirations for adulthood, and will support the Teachers in embedding the careers strategy throughout the curriculum. The Student Careers Advisor will support transition out of College to appropriate destinations in conjunction with transition offers from the Local Authorities, and will provide careers events and guidance to the young people, parents and careers and advice to Local Authorities and employers.

**As an active member of the team you can expect to**
- Identify suitable career plans for all students across the College
- Provide careers events and guidance to the young people, parents & carers and advice to Local Authorities and employers
- Work with the Work experience co-ordinator and tutors to assess what work experience has been completed and what was successful
- Support students on their work placements
- Work towards the College KPI’s to ensure we are striving to be an outstanding provider to young people with SEND

**What you need to do the role**
- Teaching qualification or equivalent
- A level 6 qualification in careers advice and guidance or willingness to work towards
- Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour in a range of context
- Ability and commitment to work as part of a supportive and cohesive team
- Enhanced DBS check, references and occupational health checks

**Location & commitments**
- Permanent contract
- Term time only working
- Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

**Salary**: £21,785.00-£24,206.00 per year
