Catering Assistant

To undertake a range of catering duties in line with the Trust and National guidelines of Hygiene, Health & Safety, COSHH and Trust Policies
- Duties include in-patient food service - serving meals in coordination with ward staff, clear up after service, cleaning and washing of equipment, prepping for next meal service and general cleaning/tidying.
- Supply a quality catering food service at ward level
- Responsible for safe delivery of hot and cold food in line with HACCP food safety policy and Food Safety Act 1990
- Other Catering duties may include operating in staff, patient and visitors dining areas ensuring the correct presentation, portion control of food
- Carry out cleaning duties as per schedules and sign relevant information on completion. To maintain a safe and hygienic working environment observing HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety regulations
- Flexible to work in other catering areas if required to do so
- To check dates of food items for sale and in stock, ensure rotation is carried out
- To adhere to strict hygiene controls including temperature monitoring of fridges, freezers, hot/cold food and record to ensure compliance with HACCP food hygiene regulations
