**Job Title**: Investigative Assessor

**Salary**: £34,448 plus a Location allowance of £1,841 and a non pensionable allowance of £1000. In addition, you will receive a market supplement which is worth £4,000 per annum. You will receive this payment of £4,000 after 12 months in post and a further £2,000 at the conclusion of your contract (18 months). Should your contract extend beyond 18 months, the market allowance will continue to be available.

London is home to almost nine million people across 32 boroughs. An effective, competent detective workforce is essential to keeping them safe and bringing criminals to justice. As an Investigative Assessor, this will be your chance to help guide the next generation of Trainee Detectives into the next step of their careers.
You’ll make sure that Trainee Detectives get the right support, advice and development, whatever their policing background. You will see that they carry out effective investigations and have the breadth of investigative knowledge and competencies to be signed off as a Detective Constable.
From professional investigation guidance to assessing interviews carried out by the TDC and arranging assessment planning meetings, you’ll proactively support and encourage each one.

**It is essential for the post holder**:
Substantial and evidenced recent experience in the conduct of Police investigations as a PIP level 2 or 3 Detective officer (not rank specific).
A good working knowledge of criminal law and of the criminal justice system.
A high level of interpersonal, written and oral skills.
The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
A methodical approach to work and the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
To have an awareness of equality and diversity issues in the working environment.
A good working knowledge of the CRIS system.

**It is desirable for the post holder**:
To have an awareness and understanding of the PC to DC career pathway.
To have had previous police supervisory experience.
Presentation skills.
A working knowledge of EWMS, Merlin, COPA and CRIMINT systems.
To have an understanding of data protection issues in criminal investigations.
To have a flexible approach to problem solving.
The ability to facilitate the development of others.
Awareness of the various coaching & assessing techniques.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
