This strategic role will lead on our health and infrastructure work area helping the sector to contribute to health agendas.

PCVS is an infrastructure organisation which supports around 400-member groups in the voluntary sector ranging from small volunteer led organisations through to branches of national charities.

This role will lead on PCVS work to tackle health inequalities by distributing funding to our member organisations to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Peterborough’s communities. This key strategic role will support progression of PCVS work in community health including leading our Health Network, building relationships and seeking opportunities to work with PCNs, ICS and other key players in the health field with the aim of supporting our network of member organisations to change lives for the better.

The role will effectively lead and manage key community health projects as follows: ICS/PCC funded project to allocate funding to groups for health and wellbeing projects

Evelyn Trust funded Health Network programme which supports small groups under £30k income per annum to access health and wellbeing funded to run activities

Managing Health Research Coordinator to deliver funded programme around communities and health

Manage Health inequalities project (until March 2023) - Cambridgeshire funded project to tackle health inequalities relating to cost of living crisis. The postholder will manage and be supported by a Health Coordinator post to deliver the PCC and Evelyn Trust funded work.

The Health/Infrastructure Lead will need to have line management, funding and capacity building experience. They need to be a team player, inspiring when working with others, and passionate about addressing inequalities. It is essential that the postholder has a good understanding of the VCS sector and the infrastructure/capacity building support that is required.

**Main duties**

Line Management

To provide effective line management to:

- Health Coordinator post
- Health Research Coordinator
- Health Inequalities project lead

Budgetary Management
- To provide overall financial management of health-related work streams producing monthly expenditure updates and invoicing appropriately where required.

Infrastructure support
- Providing the governance and infrastructure support that groups need to survive and thrive.

PCVS Health Network Management
- Manage the broader direction of the Health Network, ensuring that new opportunities for health funding are taken advantage of.
- Bring funding in for Health Network, in line with the broader shifts across community health sector.
- Ensure social determinants of health are addressed in Peterborough working with team and wider PCVS.

Partnership Management
- To work with partners within each work stream to ensure strategic and operational objectives of projects are met. Including but not limited to health partners (PCNs, GPNs, ICBs/ICS), poverty partners (TNLUK, PTC, PCC), and public sector partners (NHS, PCC, CCC).
- To participate in the ongoing strategic involvement in partner boards including public sector health boards, population health boards, active lifestyle boards, and similar health or poverty related boards.

External Strategic Commitments
- Contribute to broader impact and strategic developments through participation on partner boards.
- Attend public sector health planning sessions. Including contributing to cross sectoral working groups addressing support for Peterborough’s population.
- Develop and shared health related capacity building opportunities with third sector and public health partners so that PCVS members and partners can become more sustainable when addressing health and wellbeing.

Internal Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to the development of the PCVS strategy, making contributions by connecting work streams, addressing health related work areas, and utilising broader strategic planning skills.
- Provide updates to CEO, senior management of the board of PCVS regarding the broad developments of PCVS health work streams, community work streams, and the outputs of the PCVS Health Network.
- This role will work closely with our Personalised Support Manager who leads on Direct Payments, Personal Health Budgets (PHBs) and Social prescribing.

Funding and Grant Management
- To secure additional funding opportunities for the PCVS Health Network.
- To make these opportunities sustainable and beneficial for community health.
- To ensure that funding requirements are met including annual reports, ongoing check ins, and other monitoring and evaluation methods are completed.

Other duties
- To engage with community groups, some volunteer led, supporting them through their journey as a community organisation, including helping them access the funding, supporting with project planning, and ongoing capacity support.
