We are a family run business based in Blackpool, Lancashire. From humble beginnings in a small lockup garage 17 years ago we now operate from ~50,000 sq ft of warehouse space with accompanying offices. We aim to sell products we think our customers will love, at an affordable price with fast, efficient delivery. **A litte bit about us**:
We are an ecommerce business based in Blackpool specialising in seasonal items such as garden furniture, Christmas trees, lights and decorations. Now in our 17th year, and following a strong recent growth we are looking for an experienced buyer to join our team.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Reporting to the company director you will be responsible for purchasing the right products at the right time across a range of suppliers in the UK and abroad.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Full end to end product management for seasonal and year round categories
- Analysing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products to meet demand
- Regular review of performance indicators; sales, profitability, rate of sale
- Reacting to changes in demand, logistics, pricing strategy & stock exiting
- Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best terms and pricing for products.
- Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and exiting poor performers
- Liaising with other departments within the organisation to ensure projects are completed: Marketing & Design, Sales Channels, and our own Warehouse
- Attending required trade fairs, in the UK and overseas, to select and assemble new collections of products
- Awareness and understanding of QA compliance
- Continued competitor awareness and analysis
- Evaluating customer feedback to ensure product fit for purpose

**Key Skills and experience**
- Experience of planning and executing buying trips to the far east would be beneficial, Multiple far east trips including Canton Fair experience preferred
- Experience with product safety certification such as CE & UKCA would likewise be beneficial
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers
- Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
- Familiarity with logistics and transportation processes to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Understanding of calculating landed costs for products purchased from abroad
- Excellent Excel skill’s including formulas & VLookup
- You should be prepared to travel to the far east at least once per year.
