Institutional FX & EM Rates role is responsible for identifying sales opportunities that address specific needs for HSBC clients, managing these from identification to point of sale. The person in this role is responsible for FX & EM Rates coverage of global institutional clients with a focus on banks and wealth clients.

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Impact on the Business / Function
- Identification of new leads in Institutional FX & EM Rates, and responsibility of developing and tracking a business plan to expand existing client relationships
- Identification and development of new client relationships
- Management of transaction flow from order through to execution in conjunction with the relevant trading team in addition to business as usual transaction execution
- Develop knowledge of client needs and requirements; coordinate effort to service client organisations
- Making sales calls and meeting clients to review outlook for FX & EM Rates
- Cross-sell products within the relevant Asset Class, or within MSS more broadly
- Proactive participation with other salespersons and traders who service accounts
- Deliver above hurdle rate returns from the customer relationships managed
- Customers / Stakeholders
- External & Internal Clients: Network, develop and nurture client relationships
- Internal Collaboration: Develop close and effective working relationships within respective Europe FX & EM Rates business, as well as broader Global FX & EM Rates Businesses and MSS
- Supports the London FX & EM Rates Institutional Sales team in communication with Banking Relationship Managers to provide relevant market and product information to build the relationship
- Deliver fair outcomes for HSBC’s customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Requirements
- Experience in an FX and/or EM Rates Institutional Sales role, with a deep understanding of financial markets
- Derivative product knowledge encompassing vanilla, first generation, and more complex exotic FX options
- Strong Institutional client relationships, ideally in the Bank, Central Bank or Wealth / Private Bank space. Relationships with asset managers and hedge funds are also desirable.
- eFX experience and interest, with an analytical focus to interpret and manipulate data. Modelling / programming expertise desirable to unlock the value of our data.
- Strong understanding of Markets and Securities Services business and ability to work in a matrix organisation
