**Typical Accountabilities**
- Leads the area of Dangerous Goods, ensuring delivery of Dangerous Goods support to the global business and acts as a specialist providing expert advice ensuringcompliance with Dangerous Goods regulations for the effective and safe distribution of dangerous goods to prevent interruption to the manufacturing supply chain and R&D pipeline.
- Contributes to the development and drives implementation of Dangerous Goods initiatives to ensure SHE strategy objectives are achieved.
- Develops, manages or supports Dangerous Goods systems to increase the effectiveness and efficiency.
- Leads or supports the provision of advice and acts as a source of knowledge in Dangerous Goods area, defining and communicating important initiatives across department and functions, recommending and championing new areas and improved approaches
- Contributes to establishing and implementing Dangerous Goods policies, procedures and objectives for own work to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, business and professional requirements.
- Provides support in the development and education the business on matters relating to Dangerous Goods, advising where specialist knowledge is required to resolved complex problems.
- Provides support in Dangerous Goods Classifications to the global business within agreed timeframes.
- Provides support and expertise in relation to the labelling of transported goods.
- Monitors current and future Dangerous Goods regulations, assessing impact, mitigating risk and communicating appropriately, ensuring continued compliance for the business.
- Delivers on projects, supporting the business by representing the Dangerous Goods area in cross-functional task forces
- Actively participates in specialist meets internal and external networks.
- Provides training programmes for the Dangerous Goods area for the business functions to ensure business awareness and compliance
- Develops and cultivates technical expertise and knowledge with DG area by disseminating standard processes sharing knowledge across functions and teams
- Provides support and expertise in relation to Controlled substances compliance and shipping
- Actively participates in internal and external networks and professional organisations sharing standard process in shipping of controlled substances
- Supports global governance team for Controlled chemicals management
**Essentials**
- DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) qualification.
- Technical qualifications for Dangerous Goods in accordance with ICAO, IMO and ECE (ADR) United Nation agencies regulations
- Significant experience and understanding of the Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Ability to effectively work with and influence management and technical specialists in their line responsibility
- Understanding of own Safety, Health and Environment function, as well as a strong understanding of other functions, and how they contribute to achieving the objectives of the business
- Up to date with legislative changes and standard process developments
- Experience of team working and networking in a matrix organisation, and significant experience working with customers
- Good working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
- Communication skills and ability to influence others
**Desirables**
- Experience in classification accordance to CLP (GHS)
- Supply Labelling requirements
- Extensive experience technical support and project management
- Project management change management and people management skills
- Experience using SAP EH&S Software
