Calderdale turns 50 in 2024, we are celebrating with CultureDale: Calderdale’s Year of Culture. We are on a mission to put culture on show and committed to preserving and promoting our history and heritage.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Heritage Officer to join our team and play a key role in safeguarding and celebrating the rich history of our borough.

As our Heritage Officer you will be responsible for bringing together a new Calderdale Heritage Network, developing a Heritage Action Plan in partnership with our heritage sector, and delivering CalderTales, our National Lottery Heritage Fund engagement programme.

You will be responsible for devising and delivering a range of participatory activities that engage residents and community groups through CalderTales.

You will work closely with cultural organisations, charities, and other partners to build positive relationships, and create and deliver projects. With excellent communication skills, you will also represent the Year of Culture team at relevant outside partnership bodies at local, regional, and national level.
