Ashworth View Private Day Nursery and Pre-school is nestled in a beautiful rural setting between Norden Village and Turn Village, on Edenfield Road, Norden.

We are a company looking for a level 2 or 3 qualified nursery practitioner to work alongside our highly qualified team, working 40 hours per week in our OFSTED rated GOOD setting.

JOB TITLE: Nursery Practitioner LOCATION: Ashworth View Nursery RESPONSIBLE TO: Nursery Manager
Scope and Purpose of Role
To ensure children receive high quality care and education within company guidelines. ensuring that all children feel safe and secure and that you set an appropriate example to them at all times. The Nursery Nurse will be allocated key children and maintain their files to company and Ofsted standards. Principle responsibilities
1. To make sure you are aware of, and to follow all company policies and procedures
2. To plan, organise and implement appropriate activities within the nursery 3. To be allocated key children and accurately maintain their files.
4. To maintain and contribute to all child records and other records within the nursery
5. To maintain a clean and well organised room and nursery
6. To develop good relationships with all outside agencies and parents
7. To provide manager information on required equipment in rooms and of any maintenance needed
8. To ensure all health and safety regulations are met
9. To inform manager of any ill child so that they can contact the parents
10. To attend regular staff meetings
11. To ensure a bright and stimulating environment is maintained for the children by the use of displays, children’s work and appropriate arrangement of equipment
12. To contribute to all nursery activities and events
13. To work as part of whole nursery team for the good of the children and the nursery and liaise and co-operate with staff in other areas as needed
14. To support and supervise students and be supportive to any staff undergoing further training
15. To be aware of child protection issues and child development and bring any concerns to the attention of the nursery manager
16. To keep up to date with current legislation and childcare practices and attend any training as required
17. To carry out any other tasks as requested by your manager
18. To be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures within each local authority that they operate and to understand that they are personally accountable for safeguarding children and improving outcome.
Other Job-related Duties
To undertake other duties consistent with the scope of the post and within the competence of the post holder as required and directed by the Directors. All employees are obligated to manage effective personal development as part of the company’s commitment to quality, staff training and development - this involves active commitment to and participation in the appraisal process, during which individual employee developmental needs will be highlighted. Each individual must ensure that they meet their statutory responsibilities with regard to safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity in the workplace and other relevant employment legislation.
Act as ambassador for the company and behave in a manner that upholds the values and ethos of the organisation.
