This varied and challenging role as an Assistant Buyer will involve becoming the first point of contact for all internal and external communications, providing general assistance and resolving queries.

The person we are looking for should have:
**ESSENTIAL**
- Previous experience of working in a purchasing environment.
- Commercial awareness and focus on building strong relationships with suppliers.
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Approachable and friendly.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure & multi-task.
- Well-organised and great attention to detail.
- GCSE's or Equivalent (Math and English Essential).

**DESIRABLE**
- Previous experience of product development or product management would be advantageous but not essential.
- Previous knowledge of the lighting industry would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Identifying & sourcing new products.
- Working with the sales team to build a business case.
- Commercial negotiations.
- Obtaining prices and lead times from suppliers.
- Confirming delivery dates for purchase orders.
- Housekeeping and product code maintenance.

**SALARY**

£24,000 - £26,500 per year D.O.E.

We independently benchmark salary for all roles every two years, so when you work at Northgate Lighting Ltd you can be confident, you’re fairly rewarded for your talent and experience when compared against the rest of the industry.

**HOURS & LOCATION**

This role is for 40 hours per week (Between Mon to Fri 9:00 - 17:00), based in Bramley, Leeds.
