**A little bit about what we are looking for...**
As the Insurance Officer, your job will be to manage the Insurance budget, insurance policies and insurance claims on a day to day basis through liaison with Insurers and internal customers, to ensure an understanding of the underlying reasons for claims arising and to promote awareness of risk factors among staff and customers.

This is a fixed term contract, running until 12th December 2023.

We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; You will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training. It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too

**Your responsibilities...**
- Support the day to day internal management of insurance claims (claims are handled by insurers). This includes dealing with incoming claims correspondence appropriately and responding where necessary
- Ensure that all learning points are referred back to the appropriate team/management with a follow up review to ensure implementation wherever practicable
- Deal with any day to day queries in respect of the insurance portfolio
- Make sure that all claims are dealt with in line with internal policies and procedures and reported to the insurance company within a timely manner
- Carry out a thorough investigation into all liability claims by obtaining supporting paperwork from internal and external customers when required
- Ensure that all information required for disclosure obligations and for the investigation of claims is provided promptly to insurers or internal customers on request.
- Monitor claims files and request payments for all claims that are within the policy excess and for excess payments, update and maintain relevant payment spread sheets
- Liaise with Insurance Company and internal staff where necessary
- Assist in the procurement and renewal processes
- Responsible for all outgoing insurance correspondence
- Reconcile two insurance suspense accounts and ensure appropriate re-costing of insurance premiums
- Preparation of monthly claims reports in conjunction with insurers

- Experience within a housing association or property management environment
- Excellent database administration skills
- Excellent organisational abilities and the ability to plan work, prioritise own work load and use of a diary system
- An understanding of Insurance Cover/Policies, Principles and Practices
- Familiarity with standard IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
