Clinical Receptionist

**Job Title**: Clinical Receptionist & Booking Clerk - 37.5 Hour per week

**About the Trust**

Doncaster Royal Infirmary is located on Thorne Road, Doncaster DN2 5LT, it is easily accessible via both car and public transport. There is onsite parking (Fees will apply). Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT an overall CQC rating of good.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Answer telephone queries, take messages, direct where appropriate; provide assistance directing visitors to the appropriate locations.
- Work closely with colleagues from the cancer performance team, to ensure patients are managed through the pathway in line with the prescribed time scales. Escalating issues to the team leader necessary.
- Ensure appropriate administrative actions for activity outcomes in line with clinical instructions and SOPs; this includes accurate recording of Referral to Treatment (RTT) codes and system discharges
- Arrange patient transport and interpreters for outpatient appointments where appropriate.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
- Be provided full training on systems and processes

**You’ll have the following qualification/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- Good telephone manner
- Previous reception or admin experience
- System knowledge of PAS and E-referral (desirable)
