Assistant to The Curator

**The role**
- Liasing with conservation and zoo organisations.
- Planning and maintaining a safe working environment across the park.
- Co-ordinating research and liaising with researchers & our education team.
- Ensuring that our conservation statements, plans and reports are accurate and pushing our conservation efforts in the right direction.
- Preparing the park and documents for and ensuring we maintain compliance with licenses and certification issued by zoo associations as well as the local council and government.
- Co-ordinating animal movements.
- Co-chairing the ethical review committee meetings.
- Organising firearms training.
- Support the management team with some HR duties.

This is an assistant role that has a lot of potential for growth into higher roles within the company with £14.44 being the base rate with potential for wage increases to accompany progression within this and future roles within Wingham Wildlife Park.

This is a full time position with the working week will usually run from Monday to Friday including bank holidays with days running from 09:00am until 17:30pm including a half hour unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15 minute paid breaks.

Depending on requirements of the job where things such as animal movements are involved it may be necessary with notice to change the working week to accompany unforeseen challenges inherent to working with animals.
